NOT EXACTLY A SUNSET
|
no, not exactly
a sunset -- night crashes down,
wraps us in shadow
no light remaining
we flounder in the darkness
grope to find our way
is there salvation,
a way to climb from these depths,
a road to glory?
or do we blindly
try to feel our way along
while forever lost:
illumination,
now only a distant dream,
insurmountable?
tell me -- no, show me.
or better yet, give to me
the flashlight you hold.
